For The First Time...Pretty funny!
When I first moved to the Washington, DC area, there was a club in Alexandria, Virginia called the Birchmere.
The origional club was wonderfully funky and incredible performers just sort of wandered in.
On any given night, a star might be born. Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lyle Lovett, Shawn Colvin, Jerry Jeff Walker, Dave Matthews, Vince Gill, John Prine, Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, and k.d. Lang are just a few of the artists that played there.  It's  a glitzy
place now but well worth
checking it out.
